Reverse Painting Trees Full Version

1. Creating the background or the under painting.

*Note: There is only talking in the first minute of the video. The rest is silent so you are not missing anything.

 


2. Transferring the design to a dark background use a light color transfer paper. 


3. Masking the Design

In this painting, we  created a dark background with lots of texture and now we are going to mask it with Liquid Frisket.  Usually we use resist to preserve the white or light areas.

 


 

4. Removing the Ink Between the Trees

Rub off the negative space between the trees. You might not see where the mask is but if you gently rub the painting
with a makeup remover or cotton ball dipped in alcohol and blotted. The trees magically begin to appear!
At this point you can pour and create more sky behind the trees. Once you are satisfied it is time to remove the resist.
