Supplies for Basic Silk Painting

 

Inks:
A great kit by Jacquard to get started is the Exciter Kit
Or
basic minimum: Sunbright Yellow, Baja Blue, Magenta

 or Ranger inks 3 minimum
Sunshine Yellow, Stream, Wild Plum

Substrate:

YUPO paper four 5×7
or Mineral paper four cut to 5×7

Ceramic Tiles two to four 4 1/2 x 4 1/4 or pick up a box from hardware store

______________________________________________________Miscellaneous:

plastic, latex, or latex free, gloves

inks stain wear old clothes

q-tips

Cotton balls
plastic straws

old plastic credit card or something like that

Paper towels

91% rubbing alcohol

and small air tight container I like the silk painting small bottles with nibs to squeeze alcohol
small dish or cup to put alcohol inks
canned air

 

 

Optional but nice:

small round palette

aqua brush smallest brush size

stamp pad with felts by Ranger

Ranger’s refillable blank marker

small watercolor brush
